Chris was never able to even see his face because he would run when he saw the pair. For eight months Chris fed the dog every other day at the location where he stayed, under Hwy 6 and 521 outside of Missouri City, Texas. He lived under this overpass even during the devastating Hurricane Ike.
Chris fed him and tried to trap him a countless number of times. However, one day, after sitting in the car watching the trap for three or four hours, he smelled the sardines strategically placed and wandered into the trap. Chris cried when she saw this because she could not believe that she had finally got him.
Eli was treated for all kinds of worms, including heartworms, and needed to be neutered.

He was put up for adoption for a few months, but he stole Chris' heart. Soon after, she officially adopted Eli. He has found a home with the very person who refused to give up the fight to save him from an unpromising fate. He was worth the wait.
